Turkeys are everywhere these days! It wasn't that long ago that they were hard to find. Conditions must be just right fo them now.

Looks like you got to the train just in time. Maybe he was messing with you. As for the turkeys. I've never seen a wild turkey in my entire life until Thanksgiving day this year. I saw it walking around as I was headed to my brother's house. I was excited just because of one wild turkey. The very first one I ever saw.

Interesting perspective in your train shots here ... lovely festive header ... and the I found the previous post of interest too. Lots of lakes in California are just plain DRY these days and not from 'restoration' projects.
