The only time we were in the Charleston/Savannah area, we visited Fort Pulaski near Savannah instead... Sometime, I'd love to visit Fort Sumpter.

Thanks again.
BetsyBetsy Banks Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16223591156634767330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35562829.post-67378199339713844702011-04-13T18:43:09.436-04:002011-04-13T18:43:09.436-04:00We enjoyed touring Charleston (and some other Civi...We enjoyed touring Charleston (and some other Civil War sites) but I don't like the idea of "celebrating" this war. I remembered it from your fabulous pictures. Thanks for taking the time to add all of the fine commentary. I can't imagine that I would have fought in that war, but if I had, and if you had, 150 years ago, we might very well have been shooting at one another instead of commenting on one another's blogs.Snowbrushhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00436087215476479042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35562829.post-22755101062005207802011-04-13T09:57:36.692-04:002011-04-13T09:57:36.692-04:00Thanks for your Tour of the historic Fort Sumter i...Thanks for your Tour of the historic Fort Sumter in Charleston.

A number of years ago I had visited the old Fort myself while on a trip to Myrtle Beach. I, also, enjoyed walking around the old place. Back then I didn't bring a camera with me and did not have a Blog like I do now. I do enjoy the history of the Civil War and have been to a number of Battlefields including Gettysburg. I just may return there sometime and "snoop around" places that I've found out about, but never saw. Eversons Pits are one of them.

LesLes Barrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14469804584564038796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35562829.post-80143565808055224182011-04-13T09:40:27.268-04:002011-04-13T09:40:27.268-04:00Found this very interestingFound this very interestingTONY LETTShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02866408229170706032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35562829.post-7463614860723368012011-04-13T08:42:48.100-04:002011-04-13T08:42:48.100-04:00Snow just read your post on the Civil War..
