At birth we boarded the train

THE TRAIN:
At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, strangers and even the love of your life. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. Others will step down over time and leave a permanent vacuum. Some, however, will go so unnoticed that we don't realize they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.
The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.
I wish you a joyful journey for the coming years on your train of life. Reap success, give lots of love and be happy. More importantly, thank God for the journey!
Lastly, I want to thank you for being one of the passengers on my train!

For Linda

The Kettle.
By Ella Wheeler Wilcox
There’s many a house of grandeur,
With turret, tower and dome,
That knows not peace or comfort,
And does not prove a home.
I do not ask for splendour
To crown my daily lot,
But this I ask – a kitchen
Where the kettles always hot.
If things are not all ship-shape,
I do not fume or fret,
A little clean disorder
Does not my nerves upset.
But one thing is essential,
Or seems so in my thought,
And that’s a tidy kitchen
Where the kettle’s always hot.
In my Aunt Hattie’s household,
Though skies outside are drear,
Though times are dark and troubled,
You’ll always find good cheer.
And in her quaint old kitchen –
The very homiest spot –
The kettle’s always singing,
The water’s always hot.
And if you have a headache,
Whate’er the hour may be,
There is no tedious waiting
To get your cup of tea.
I don’t know how she does it –
Some magic she has caught –
For the kitchen’s cool in summer,
Yet the kettle’s always hot.
Oh, there’s naught else so dreary
In household kingdom found
As a cold and sullen kettle
That does not make a sound.
And I think that love is lacking
In the hearts in such a spot,
Or the kettle would be singing
And the water would be hot.

Thank You Linda for Always Keeping The Kettle Always Hot at our house..

If You Love Barns

A MY QULITY TIME POST LINKING TO “BARN CHARM” , “OUR WORLD TUESDAY”,SCENIC SUNDAY AND SPIRITUAL SUNDAYS

One day a father and his rich family took his young son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. DSC_0125

When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

DSC_0127

Very good, Dad!" "Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked."Yeah!"

DSC_0155

"And what did you learn?"

DSC_0147 The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden, they have a creek that has no end.

DSC_0134

We have imported lamps in the garden, they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon."

When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless.

DSC_0141 His son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are!"

Isn't it true that it all depends on the way you look at things? If you have love, friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude toward life, you've got everything!

DSC_0151

You can't buy any of these things. You can have all the material possessions you can imagine, provisions for the future, etc., but if you are poor of spirit, you have nothing!

Slow down head to a barn or the woods for some quiet meditative time for yourself and think of all the things you have to be grateful for. Might not hurt to live a little simpler life.” How much is enough? Click to find out.

The Silence of the Forest

The Silence of the Forest.
By Eunice E Powe
The silence of the forest, the echo of the trees
The whispers as the wind blows, just as you please!
I swirl around and around and look to the sky
Through the tall branches, I see the clouds float by.
Can I be dreaming or am I just in a spin
The peace that is before me, a chill upon my skin.
As I walk, the leaves rustle beneath my feet
Sending little notes of joy, a melody to beat.
I can only stop and stare and keep the memory mine
The forest has it’s mystery and I must keep in line.
I will sit beneath the tree and listen to the sound
So many different messages are scattered all around.
The whistle of the wind rushing pass my face
Looking for the exit, so it can leave this place.
The branches sway and the leaves begin to fall
I can hear the birds now, sending me their call.
I must now follow and leave the forest too
Day is nearly ended, the dark will spoil my view.
Tomorrow I can come again, enjoy the peace I seek
The silence of the forest, are whispers I can keep.
