THANKS WIKIPEDIA/WIKIMEDIA/YouTube

John Muir (1838-1914) was America's most famous and influential naturalist and conservationist, and founder of the Sierra Club. This website, known as the "John Muir Exhibit" features his life and contributions.

In his life, Muir published six volumes of writings, all describing explorations of natural settings. Four additional books were published posthumously. Several books were subsequently published that collected essays and articles from various sources.

Thanks for the bio of an American hero! (At least one of mine!). So is his Birthday April 22? If so I wonder if that is why they chose that day for Earth Day. Even if not, it is a nice coincidence -- he is an Earth Day hero!
