The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Florida and the second tallest masonry lighthouse in the country second only to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The spiral stairway is fantastic. I love lighthouses and Born to be Wild is the song I sang to my grandson that he still loves.

What an extraordinary post. The history, the images you shared, and the cute jokes. LOL ===My favorite photo is that incredible light...the close up. So 'crystal clear' and sharp!!

I so enjoyed this, living on the coast and all as I do. I've been to two lighthouses along the Texas coast, but this one you toured is purely outstanding.

That circular stairway....looks lethal, but I would have to climb. Of course.

Beautiful picture of the Fresnel lens light. There is one like that in a lighthouse near Coos Bay Oregon that we have visited several times and heard the history of the light as well as the lighthouse.

That wall of clocks is very interesting.
