Celebrate the cool, crisp days ahead with a picnic at Conkle’s Hollow.

hollow 017 I’ll tell you what I’m not looking forward to; the loss of about two minutes of light each day. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you make the most of each and every day. I try to live one day at a time and enjoy each moment as it comes.

Autumn days are here again!

In autumn when the trees are brown
The little leaves come tumbling down
They do not make the slightest sound
But lie so quietly on the ground
Until the wind comes puffing by
And blows them off towards the sky.

The winds will blow their own freshness into you,
and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you
like the leaves of Autumn.

A trip back in time to Malabar Farm where Louis Bromfield used to hang his hat

Love those frugal one tank trips. Today we are going to visit “Malabar Farm where Sustainable farming meets environmental, economic, and social objectives simultaneously.” A THAT’S MY WORLD TUESDAY POST

Map picture

Malabar Farm State Park
4050 Bromfield Rd. Lucas,OH. is S.E. of Mansfield,Ohio and just a few short miles from interstate 71 on Pleasant Valley Rd.

DENISEVALES

Denise Vales (our very capable guide) is standing beside Mr. Bromfields restored 1946 Willys Jeep which he used for farm chores. Next a little about Mr. Bromfield:

Louis Bromfield December 27, 1896 – March 18, 1956 was an American author and conservationist who gained international recognition winning the Pulitzer Prize and pioneering innovative scientific farming concepts. One of Mansfield, Ohio's most famous natives, his home was Malabar Farm near Lucas, Ohio, from 1939 until his death in 1956. Bromfield was also friends with some of the most celebrated personalities of his era, including famous architect F. F. Schnitzer, and provided the location for Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall's wedding.CLICK to read more from Wikipedia… Let’s take a look inside:
