You can’t store a fire hose if it’s wet so they would hang them in the bell tower to dry.

A LITTLE HISTORY::The first Roman fire brigade of which we have any substantial history was created by Marcus Licinius Crassus. Marcus Licinius Crassus was born into a wealthy Roman family around the year 115 BC, and acquired an enormous fortune through (in the words of Plutarch) "fire and rapine." One of his most lucrative schemes took advantage of the fact that Rome had no fire department. Crassus filled this void by creating his own brigade—500 men strong. CLICK to find out the interesting way he made money on this “scheme”

If you think it's tough being a firefighter, try being a firefighter's wife.

You might be a firefighter if "climbing the corporate ladder" has nothing to do with career advancement.

You know you're a firefighter when you really think that rusty old hydrant looks good in the garden. (never thought of that)

Real life learning in the “LEARNING CENTER”..

You will be able to walk through actual burned rooms.View a full size childs’s bedroom, shown during and after a fire. (smells like smoke). No photos of learning center in this post. You will just have to go to the museum yourself.
