MORNING WALK IN LANCASTER,OHIO 04/05/2010
A FEW PHOTOS FROM THE MORNING WALK THEN I’M OFF TO EXPLORE A NEW (NEW TO ME) NATURE PRESERVE “ROCKSTULL NATURE PRESERVE” IN THE HOCKING HILLS AREA OF OHIO
“Johnny Jump-up Viola cornuta Perennial. Returns each spring from same roots, forming expanding clump. Blooms second spring from seed.
Once established, this species often spreads rapidly, but is always loved, not hated for its spreading habits.” WILD FLOWER INFORMATION
The Easter Lamb Cake sure was good eating and As Always Thanks For Stopping By.
Beautiful selection of blossoms! No wonder I'm sneezing today. =D
We have one little yellow Johnny Jump-up volunteer that greets us each spring. I'm not sure how it got there as we've not planted any, but it's a nice greeting at the front door.
Looking forward to seeing your photos from Rockstull Nature Preserve. Have fun!
Your blossoms are so pretty! I like the lamb cake too.
Beautiful colors in your area, Joe... I love seeing those Johnny Jump-Ups... So pretty!!!
Someone very creative made your Easter Lamb Cake... Bet you ate the ears, didn't you????? ha
Have a great Monday.
Betsy, Linda broke my arm when I went for the ears LOL
The Easter Lamb Cake is beautiful, Joe. I imagine it tasted as good as it looks.
Great post with the beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing.
We had leg of lamb for our Easter roast - one more lamb walking about on crutches..
