How about a hike at Chestnut Ridge Metro Park near Lancaster,Ohio… (on the first day of spring)

100_8818

Park includes  a couple of walking loops with nice diversity; old homestead and great views.

As spring progresses the diverse habitats will make the park  a great place to look for wildflowers and birds.

Steep trails = workout opportunity as cross country runners and backpack hikers know from their training sessions in this four season park. Look at the next photo closely. Do you see the cross country runners?

100_8815

100_8801

I didn’t have my camera ready when the three deer went through the woods just beyond the downed log.

100_8816

Pond: Children 15 and younger and adults 60 and older can fish from the pond's two docks. An observation deck for viewing waterfowl and wildlife is also available.

jtf There is one LONG HILL that makes for a good workout.. close to home..well maintained…and scenic…. Hope everyone had a great 1st day of spring..

mqtnew Sorry I couldn’t resist:: What is the moral of this story?

While hiking in the woods, Nate and Sam found this huge rock
which had an old iron lever attached to it. Etched into the
rock was the following inscription: "If this lever is
pulled, the world will come to an end!" Nate wanted to pull
the lever and see what would happen, but Sam, being a
paranoid pessimist, greatly feared this! He said to Nate
that if he tried to pull the lever, he'd shoot him! In a
daring attempt, Nate lunged for the lever, and sure enough,
Sam shot him! What is the moral of this story? Better Nate than lever!

Little Joey & the Priest

PRIEST

'Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl'..
The priest asks ,Is that you, little Joey?
'Yes, Father, it is.'
'And who was the girl you were with?'
'I can't tell you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation'
Well, Joey, I sure will find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now.
Was it Tina Minetti?'
'I cannot say.'
'Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?'
'I'll never tell.'
' Was it Nina Capelli?'
'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.'
'Was it Cathy Piriano?'
'My lips are sealed.'
The priest sighs in frustration. 'You're very tight lipped, Joey Pagano, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself.' Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Frankie slides over whispering 'What'd you get?'
Joey replies, "4 months vacation and 4 good leads"

DSC_0023“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

DSC_0001

Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.

DSC_0005DSC_0010

It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

DSC_0007

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

DSC_0015

We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.

DSC_0016

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

DSC_0004

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. (Took me a long time to come to this realization LOL)

DSC_0020 And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.” Charles Swindoll  American Author and Pastor

One Last Thought:::

Attitude Adjustment

Mary received a parrot as a gift.

parr

The parrot was fully grown with a very bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was profanity; those that weren't profanity were, to say the least, rude. Mary tried to change the bird's attitude by constantly saying polite words and playing soft music, anything she could think of. Nothing worked. She yelled at the bird and the bird got worse. She shook the bird and the bird became even madder and ruder. Finally, in a moment of desperation, Mary put the parrot in the freezer to get a minute of peace. For a few moments she heard the bird swearing, squawking, kicking and screaming. Then, suddenly, there was absolute quiet. Mary was frightened that she might have actually hurt the bird and quickly opened the freezer door. The parrot calmly stepped out onto Mary's extended arm. Perfectly calm, the parrot said, "I am very sorry that I offended you with my language and my actions and I ask your forgiveness. I will endeavor to correct my behavior, and I am sure it will never happen again." Mary was astounded at the changes in the bird's attitude and was about to ask what had changed him, when the parrot continued, "May I ask what the chicken did?"

Funny Monday At My Quality Time….

mqtnew

Our Neighbor here in Lancaster, Ohio. was returning home from work, a blonde,

blonde2

she was shocked to find her house ransacked and burglarized. She telephoned the police at once and reported the crime. The police dispatcher broadcast the call on the radio, and a K-9 unit,

k9 patrolling nearby, was the first to respond. As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog on a leash, the blonde ran out on the porch, shuddered at the sight of the cop and his dog, then sat down on the steps. Putting her face in her hands, she moaned, 'I come home to find all my possessions stolen. I call the police for help, and what do they do? They send me a BLIND policeman...!!!

Thomas Alva Edison (February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931) An American inventor.

A THATS MY WORLD TUESDAY POST. CLICK ON THIS LINK AND DISCOVER THE WORLD.

100_4378

On our recent “wandering” road trip to FORT MYERS, FLORIDA Linda and I had the opportunity to tour the Edison/Ford winter estates. We started with a little chat with Mrs. Edison.

100_4377

Now Mrs.. Edison reminded us that her husband was born in Milan,Ohio

done1

so if you are ever in Ohio take the time to stop by his birthplace. Now for a quick picture tour of the estate:

housecollage

Looks like a nice place to hangout with President Harding,Ford,Firestone, and others. A lot of work coming up with  inventions. 100_4308   Back to the house:

Next stop office,workshop,and lab:

Edison was quite an angler and living right on the Caloosahatchee river in Fort Myers gave him many opportunities. In the photo below you can see the pier at his estate.

edisonpiercollage  That is Linda lower right holding onto some Bamboo. I’ve heard it said Edison made his own poles and tackle. If you would like to read about an encounter  Edison had with a shark CLICK. Edison also liked to do some camping.

camping I guess you dressed differently to go camping in the 1920s. Being the inventor he was maybe he came up with:

StudebakerRV_resized 1929 Studebaker RV. You think I’m kidding well read the story HERE.

Ted R. is taking a break so Mr. Gecko from the estate says, “Thanks for stopping by.”

Gecko Also, did you know Thomas Edison has his own NATIONAL PARK.

100_4334 Maybe next time Mr. Ford.
