Hi Joe, Great pictures of the old cabin.

And that is a HUGE spider web... There's nothing worse than being on a hike in the woods and walking through a big spider web.... I feel it on me for days!!!!! ha

Have a good day.

Great post. I watched and filmed a spider building a web last year. Amazing how they do it. The spider webs look magic in the misty autumn mornings.

So Charlotte the Spider moved to Ohio. She sure knows how to spin a web and you sure know how to capture the web with your camera. Great job.

The spider webs wouldn't bother me a whit! They are intriguing and beautiful and spiders do good! I love the cabin.

What a wonderful post. love the painting of the old cabin, such a pity there is no longer anyone to take care of it except the spiders. Great poem too.

I am IMPRESSED. Whenever I have tried to photograph spider's webs their lovely details get lost. Great pics, Joe!

Received this Email:: Hello,

I just came across your Blog and the entry about Clear Creek Metro Preserve in Ohio. I tried to leave a comment but it wouldn't let me. You had some great photos of the old Mathias Cabin there and all of the spiderwebs. I just found out recently that the my family settled in that area and the Mathias cabin belonged to my great grandparents and my grandmother was raised there. The park system actually built a restored verison of the cabin on the other side of the park. My grandmother actually moved back to that area about 15 years ago and lives on some property down the street from there. I went to visit her last year and we walked around the park. She told me of all her memories with her siblings and friends, and how they used to drink the fresh water running down the rocks, and blowing dandelions in the breeze. It's great to hear her talk about it because she has Alzheimers and dementia, but her childhood memories are so vivid. Thanks for the pics! Really enjoyed them!
