BE PROUD FAIRFIELD COUNTY & LANCASTER,OHIO
TO EXPLORE THE WORLD VISIT THAT’S MY WORLD TUESDAY
A SHORT DRIVE FROM LANCASTER,OHIO WE HAVE
AT THE PRESENT TIME THIS PARK IS CLOSED. MAYBE WE CAN CHANGE THAT BY VOTING YES ON ISSUE 14. SEE EARLIER POST. THIS NEXT PHOTO IS NOT ONE THE RESIDENTS OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY SHOULD BE PROUD OF.
NOW FOR A QUICK TOUR OF WHAT WE ARE MISSING OUT ON:
LOOKS TO ME LIKE A GREAT SPOT FOR A PICNIC. (JUST MY OPINION) WHAT DO YOU THINK?
A suspension bridge over Salt Creek. The bridge, built in 1936, is the only existing WPA project in Fairfield County.
ON UP THE TRAIL TO THE INDIAN MOUND.
“The mound is cross-shaped and about 90 feet across with a circular depression, 20 feet wide and 12 inches deep”The age and cultural affiliation of the Tarlton Cross Mound is not known. The cross symbol, however, was used extensively during the Mississippian period to represent the Sun. It is therefore possible that it was built by the contemporary Fort Ancient culture.” To me it looked like the cross was built north/south and east/west. I didn’t have compass with me so I don’t know for sure.
WHAT IS THIS? VOTE YES FOR ISSUE 14 AND MAYBE WE CAN FIND OUT.
BY VOTING YES ON ISSUE 14 WE CAN HOPEFULLY UNLOCK THE GATE
AND HAVE A PICNIC OR TWO,
A STAFF OF ONE FOR OUR COUNTY HISTORICAL PARKS IS JUST NOT ENOUGH. TALK ABOUT UNDER STAFFING.
AFTER THE PICNIC DON’T FORGET TO STOP AT DURGIN’S PLACE IN TARLTON FOR ICE CREAM DURGIN’SHAS BEEN CLOSED FOR A COUPLE YEARS BUT WAS REOPENED BY DEE ROSS THE NEW OWNER
JOE TODD REPORTING FROM THE TRACE AND THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.
